Yorgos Gounezos was born in 1989 in Athens, Greece.

 

He studied photography and creative documentary filmmaking and has been working as a freelance cinematographer for over a decade.

He is directing and producing documentary films as well as commissioned videos.

His short films have been awarded at national and international festivals in France, the Netherlands, and the United States.

 

He is currently developing his debut feature-length film, Letter from the Mountains, an environmental documentary that follows people living in protected mountain regions as they confront the challenges and contradictions

of the green transition.
